Throughout the year, there’s countless events that goes on in Southwest Florida. If you like arts or just love nature, Southwest Florida is the right choice for that family vacation.
Locals and tourists alike enjoy the outdoor activities this part of Florida has to offer.
For family fun, take the kids kayaking and canoeing at the Myakka River State Park in Sarasota. You can go boating and freshwater fishing too, which are popular activities. After all Florida is surrounded by rivers and lakes. If you want to enjoy a panoramic view of the local wildlife, use the boardwalk above the lake. Being up there is like sitting on top of the world. It’s an experience that you’ll savor for a lifetime.
For my money, the Ten Thousand Islands National Wildlife Refuge, which spans over 35,000 acres, is also another must-see attraction. Enthusiastic nature lovers pack your backpacks and your tents and let’s go camping. This park offers thousands of activities, such as birding, fishing and kayaking.
This park has a high concentration of birds and fish. Here you will find many different kinds of fish and birds alike.
For the romantic couples out there, I have a perfect place for you. Sanibel and Captiva Islands are as romantic as it can get. Take a walk on the white sandy beaches. You and your loved one with walk hand in hand experiencing pure tranquility.
A getaway to the secret island of Cape Haze is also a nice romantic venture. There you’ll watch the sunset and sip Mojitos. It’s romantic perfection.
The next time you find yourself in Southwest Florida, think about adding these items to your to-do list. You just can’t go wrong with the Ten Thousand Islands National Wildlife Refuge, Sanibel and Captiva Islands, Cape Haze and Myakka River State Park. Go explore and enjoy your vacation.
